Stephen’s journey from building homes in Newfoundland to becoming a respected figure in the construction and public adjusting industries is an inspiring one. Starting in Newfoundland, he grew up in the construction business, gaining hands-on experience in building homes. This foundational knowledge paved the way for his next big venture in Rockford, Illinois, where he founded Rockford Contractors Inc. in 2007. Under his leadership, the company quickly became one of the area’s most respected contracting businesses. However,
in 2013, Stephen made the decision to sell the company, relocating to Austin, Texas, with his family to provide better opportunities for his two boys, Grant and Layton.
In Austin, Stephen’s passion for construction continued. In 2016, he founded Custom512, focusing on providing exceptional service to the local community. As the principal of Custom512, he worked tirelessly with his team to build strong relationships with clients,
many of whom returned or referred others due to the company’s reliable service and commitment to quality. Stephen’s dedication to ensuring his clients’ satisfaction is a cornerstone of his business philosophy.
Stephen’s most recent venture took him into a new area of service. In June 2024, he decided to broaden his impact by becoming a licensed public adjuster. He quickly obtained licenses in multiple states and joined Strategic Claims Consultants. There, Stephen
leverages his extensive knowledge of construction, negotiation skills, and communication abilities to guide clients through the challenging process of dealing with insurance claims, helping them return to their pre-loss condition.
Stephen’s diverse career showcases his commitment to service, his passion for helping others, and his ability to adapt and succeed in different fields. Now, through his work as a public adjuster, he strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the
people he serves.
