Jay Kramer attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the college basketball team for two years before transferring to Illinois State University to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, Jay secured a prestigious internship with Interpol in Washington, D.C., which provided him with valuable experience in international law enforcement and investigative skills that translate effectively to the detailed analysis required in insurance claims investigations.
Jay’s professional journey took him to the helm of Merrell’s U.S. sales operations, where he was responsible for setting and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing key retail partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities that aligned with the brand’s commitment to performance, sustainability, and adventure. His success in this demanding retail environment, before the company’s restructuring, demonstrated his ability to drive results in competitive markets and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Jay made a strategic pivot to Strategic Claim Consultants as National Sales Director, bringing his proven sales leadership and strategic thinking to the public adjusting industry. With a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and strategic aspects of the claims process, he serves as a critical link between policyholders and insurance carriers, advocating for fair settlements on behalf of clients nationwide.
As a multi-state Licensed Public Insurance Adjuster, Jay has quickly established himself as one of the industry’s most talented and successful leaders in client acquisition. His field experience includes assisting dozens of high-rise condominiums throughout Florida’s panhandle, extending to Mississippi’s Gulf coast during major hurricanes, including Michael, Delta, Zeta, and Sally. Pivoting to focus on commercial real estate, Jay directed recovery efforts for business owners and investment groups during the devastating “Derecho” that impacted Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His diverse expertise enabled SCC to achieve successful recoveries for high-profile restaurants and business owners following Hurricane Ida.
In his current role, Jay assists a team of regional sales representatives while overseeing national expansion efforts and implementing scalable systems for growth. His responsibilities include developing strategic partnerships and refining market entry strategies that position SCC for continued success. His proven ability to identify high-value opportunities, convert leads effectively, and retain key accounts has established him as a driving force behind the firm’s impressive growth trajectory.
Recognized as the company’s top sales producer, Jay consistently exceeds performance benchmarks and leads by example, successfully closing some of the most complex and high-value claims in the company. His hands-on experience with both commercial and residential losses, coupled with his deep knowledge of policy language and adjusting protocols, enables him to build trust with clients while developing high-performing teams under his guidance.
Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Kristi and their three children—Jack, Evan, and Lily—and finds fulfillment in coaching their athletic teams and traveling together as a family.
