Kelly H. Hebert serves as Controller at Strategic Claim Consultants, LLC, where she leads the comprehensive financial and accounting operations that support the company’s mission of advocating for policyholders across multiple states. After joining SCC in 2023, Kelly assumed the Controller role in May 2024 when her predecessor retired, seamlessly transitioning into this critical leadership position.
Over the past 12 months, Kelly has played a pivotal role in overseeing the deposit, processing, and disbursement of more than $250 million in insurance proceeds for SCC clients. This substantial financial responsibility demonstrates both the scale of the company’s operations and the trust placed in Kelly’s expertise and judgment. Her management of these significant funds requires meticulous attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of insurance regulations, and commitment to protecting client interests throughout the
financial process.
Kelly’s operational responsibilities extend well beyond financial processing to encompass comprehensive team support functions. She manages payroll and benefits administration for a team of 60 employees and regular contractors, ensuring that compensation and benefits are administered accurately and efficiently. Her role includes overseeing expense reporting systems that enable field staff to focus on client service while maintaining proper financial controls and documentation.
As a key contributor to executive decision-making, Kelly leads the month-end closing process and assists in financial reporting and variance analysis to the parent company. This function requires sophisticated financial analysis skills and the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues that impact business performance. She also performs various special projects as warranted, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving abilities that support organizational objectives.
Kelly brings over 20 years of accounting and financial leadership experience to her role at SCC. Her career began at the prestigious public accounting firm Deloitte & Touche, where she gained a strong foundation in audit, compliance, and advanced accounting principles. This Big Four experience provided her with exposure to diverse industries, complex financial structures, and rigorous professional standards that continue to inform her approach to financial management.
Following her public accounting experience, Kelly transitioned into corporate finance roles at Cox Communications and other notable organizations, where she developed expertise in financial reporting, operational efficiency, and strategic planning. This combination of public accounting rigor and corporate finance practical experience enables her to balance compliance requirements with operational needs effectively.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida, one of the nation’s leading business programs. Her educational foundation, combined with her extensive professional experience, provides her with a comprehensive understanding of both technical accounting principles and strategic
business operations.
